The Mighty Gorilla
Gorillas live in South West Africa, in Rwanda. They are large primates, they also live in zoos and forests. Few animals have sparked the imagination of man as much as the gorilla, the largest of the living primates.

What do Gorillas look like?
Gorillas are huge. They are up to 6 feet tall. Their lifespan is 40-50 years. The arms are longer than their short legs. They have large heads and nostrils. They have a unique nose print which is like a human fingerprint. No two are the same The fully adult male mountain gorilla is twice as large as the female.

What they eat?
Gorillas are herbivores which means they are vegetarians. They need to eat a lot of food up to as much as 20 kgs a day. They like to eat nettles and wild bamboo and celery.

How they behave?
The male silverback is the leader of the tribe and he tells them when to go, sleep and what to eat. The female is the one that looks after the children. They like to groom each other and can talk using sounds and using their gestures.

I feel that we should look after the Gorilla because they are intelligent animals. We need to protect where they live and what they eat.
